The Innovation Hub Management Company (TIHMC) provides enabling support platforms for enterprise development through instruments such as Maxum, Climate Innovation Centre (CIC), BioPark, eKasiLabs and Mlab.

What is a business Incubator?

An Incubator is a place, especially with support staff and equipment, made available at low rent to new small businesses. The Business Incubators at The Innovation Hub are as follows: 

Maxum Business 

  • ​​Maxum Smart – provides business development support to start-ups in the smart industries: ICT (e.g. internet of things, cyber security, big data and analytics, artificial intelligence) and advanced manufacturing / industry 4.0 (e.g. industrial IoT, additive manufacturing, foundry 4.0). Its focus sectors are ICT and advanced manufacturing.
  • Maxum Digital – provides business development support to digital start-ups (gaming, animations and virtual reality) and supporting unemployed graduates as well as township youth in collaboration between TIH and Wits University. It is located at the Digital Innovation Zone in the Tshimologong precinct. Its focus areas are Gaming, Animation and Vitual Reality. For more infomation, please click here
The Climate Innovation Centre South Africa (CICSA)
The business incubation provides business development support to start-ups in the South African green economy in collaboration with the World Bank's InfoDev (http://www.infodev.org/), and the Development Bank of Southern Africa(DBSA)'sgreen fund (http://www.sagreenfund.org.za/wordpress/). BioPark Business Incubator

BioPark Business Incubator provides business development support to start-ups in the health (biopharmaceuticals, medical devices and diagnostics, indigenous knowledge-based neutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals, cosmetics), agriculture (agro-/food-processing, bioprocessing, smart agriculture) in industrial biotechnology sectors. eKasiLabs

eKasiLabs provides business development support to start-ups in the The Innovation Hub priority sectors in various townships in Gauteng through collaboration with various partners including local government and academic institutions. ​mLab Southern Africa

mLab is a mobile applications laboratory, which incubates innovation and entrepreneurship in the mobile channel.
