Apply for a CITES Dealers Book

Description

This service is aimed at an individual, clubs, businesses, nature reserves and municipalities who want to apply for CITES Dealers Book.

Export permits may only be issued to facilitate the export of articles purchased by tourists and may not be used for bulk consignments between dealers for commercial purposes, for the following species: Hartmann's Zebra, excluding USA, Hippopotamus excluding EU, Nile crocodile, excluding full skins and meat, Cape fur seal, African elephant hair and leather products only and Aloe. 

All persons or companies who import, export, trade in, keep, possess, collect, pick, convey, transport or hunt listed wild animals and wild plants in Gauteng must apply for permits with the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, (Directorate: Biodiversity Management/Nature Conservation).

How to apply:

  • The application form is completed and signed by applicant. 
  • Check that the correct standard application form is used. 
  • Proof of payment of application fee.
