Gauteng engages Tambo-Springs Intermodal Gateway developers on transport infrastructure plans

Gauteng MEC for Public Transport and Roads Infrastructure Jacob Mamabolo will on Thursday, 12 May 2022 visit the Tambo-Springs Intermodal Gateway as part of the Department’s continued engagements with private property developers to provide updates on transport infrastructure projects. Located along the N3, Tambo-Springs Intermodal Gateway is part of the broader drive to move freight cargo from road to rail.

 

MEC Mamabolo is set to provide progress on planned construction of the K148/N3 Interchange which is an important link to the proposed Tambo-Springs Freight and Logistics Hub.

 

The MEC will kickstart visits with site inspections of planned routes to support O.R. Tambo International Airport expansion and the Tambo-Springs Intermodal Gateway.

 

The visits forms part of the Provincial Government’s Ntirhisano programme aimed at fast-tracking delivery of transport infrastructure projects to boost economic recovery and growth in the province.
