On Friday
the 26 of September 2025, The Gauteng Department of Community
Safety histed a Heritage Celebration in the spirit of honoring the heroes and
heroines who laid down their lives for our freedom.
The
programme was directed by Mt Bheki Kubheka as the department celebrated the
rich tapestry of cultures that make up the fabric of our vibrant nation, South
Africa.
The
auditorium was filled with vibrant performances, including poetry by Sello
Mokgatlhe, music by Makhosazana Dube, Vuyo the musician, and the GTW Southern
Corridor Choir.
The
Human Resource Management (HRM) unit captivated the audience with a powerful
cultural showcase of a traditional Xhosa wedding. Their outstanding
presentation earned them the title of Best Performance for Heritage Day 2025,
unseating last year’s champions, the Office of the CFO. In a raffle, one lucky
winner, Ms. Nomsa Radebe from the GTW Southern Corridor choir walked away with
an air fryer courtesy of Capital Legacy.
The
Gauteng Department of Community Safety extends its heartfelt gratitude to all
partners namely, Rand Mutual Assurance (RMA), Capital Legacy and Legal Wise for
their contributions.
The
Department also thanks the performers, participants, and Safety Ambassadors for
their contributions in making the 2025 Heritage Day Celebration a resounding
success.
