Progress on restorative repairs at Lyttelton Primary School shows tangible resultsĀ

By Luyanda Mamatu

The restorative and repair works at Lyttelton Primary School in Centurion, Pretoria has experienced some challenges with little progress being made. The restorative work encompasses a wide range of improvements, including water and sewer reticulation systems, sports field upgrades and structural repairs to the school buildings. Onsite activities include the installation of roof insulation, replacement of damaged timber trusses and purlins, laying of the new roof covering, setting up of wet services, and surface preparation for subsequent installations. At Block E, planned alterations have been substantially completed, with focus now on finishing works to ensure quality and functionality.

Over the next two weeks, critical activities will include the completion of roof covering installation, floor grinding, ceiling works, painting of internal walls, and commencement of electrical installations. Despite earlier delays caused by material delivery issues, pending approvals, and cashflow constraints, corrective measures have been implemented to maintain progress and ensure timely completion.

Our team of professionals will continue to exercise strict oversight of this project to ensure that all work is executed efficiently, to the highest standards and within the agreed timelines. Nothing less will be accepted. The result must be a fully restored, safe, and modern learning environment that meets the needs of both academic and recreational activities for the Lyttelton Primary School community.
