Gauteng Government Leads Integrated Service Delivery Operation in Mogale City
By Prudence Motsila
The Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG), in partnership with the South African Police Service (SAPS), Municipal Police Departments (MPDs), and local and district municipalities, rolled out a successful Provincial Integrated Service Delivery Operation in Kagiso, Mogale City, today.
This operation forms part of GPG's broader strategy to improve service delivery, promote safer communities, and strengthen intergovernmental collaboration. The initiative brings together multiple stakeholders to tackle crime, increase police visibility, enhance coordination between law enforcement agencies, and showcase crime prevention technologies.
MEC for Infrastructure Development and Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Jacob Mamabolo, led the morning briefing session ahead of the official programme held at Kagiso Sports Complex. The day's activities included roadblocks, joint compliance inspections, site visits to wastewater treatment plants, road repairs, the clearing of illegal dumping sites, litter collection, and a school improvement programme aimed at supporting matriculants.
Premier Panyaza Lesufi delivered the keynote address, assuring residents that their concerns about crime have not gone unheard.
"We are here because we have heard your cries about safety in this area. We've brought the right people here today to take action," said Premier Lesufi. He commended participating government departments for their commitment to fighting crime and addressing broader challenges such as housing and infrastructure.
The Gauteng Provincial Government reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying operations in crime hotspots, tackling lawlessness, and addressing persistent issues across municipalities, including compliance failures, service delivery backlogs, waste management, and road maintenance.
Through continued integrated operations, GPG aims to build safer, cleaner, and more resilient communities across the province.
