Gauteng Health grateful for donations

To assist the Gauteng Department of Health, Transnet Foundation, amongst other items, donated Phelophepa Healthcare Train to assist with the provision of healthcare services in the province.

Since the generous donation, many Gauteng residents have benefitted with assistance for various ailments that they suffer from including eyecare, dentistry and chronic illnesses.

One of the beneficiaries, 100-year-old Archbishop Jan Moloi from Soweto who received two pairs of spectacles at the Dube station recently was elated.

"I am so happy for this gift of sight. I will forever be grateful to the department and Phelophepa train for excellent service," said Archbishop Moloi.

The train which boasts 18 couches and each is a consulting room spacious enough to accommodate a patient, an escort, a nurse, and a clinical supervisor will continue to support various parts of Gauteng during the Covid-19 pandemic.
