On Thursday, 10 July 2025, the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG), in partnership with the South African Police Service (SAPS), Municipal Police Departments (MPDs), and both local and district municipalities, hosted the Provincial Integrated Service Delivery Operations in Mogale City Local Municipality.

This initiative forms part of the provincial government's broader strategy to enhance service delivery and build safer communities through strengthened multi-agency collaboration. The programme aims to:

  • Improve coordination in combating crime across jurisdictions,
  • Enhance police visibility,
  • Promote information sharing between law enforcement agencies, and
  • Showcase technology used in crime prevention.

As an ongoing campaign across all five Gauteng corridors, the event in Mogale City saw support from several dignitaries, including:

  • City of Johannesburg Executive Mayor, Cllr Dada Morero

The programme was also honoured by delegates from the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Community Safety and Liaison.

Unified Law Enforcement in Action

Various law enforcement agencies including the Gauteng Traffic Police, Gauteng Traffic Wardens, MPDs, and municipal police conducted joint operations and roadblocks aimed at addressing drunk driving, crime, lawlessness, illegal mining, and by-law compliance.

Premier Panyaza Lesufi was actively on the ground at R41 Randfontein Road and other parts of the city, engaging with motorists and supporting the enforcement of traffic regulations. His presence emphasised the importance of safe driving and road safety interventions designed to reduce accidents and fatalities.

Community and Educational Engagements

At Kagiso Secondary School, Gauteng MEC for Education, Matome Chiloane, addressed learners, encouraging academic commitment:

“Studying is the only way that guarantees success. This is the time to invest in your books,” said MEC Chiloane.

Simultaneously, the Department of Roads and Transport conducted infrastructure improvements, including the repair of potholes on Pelindaba Road in the West Rand District Municipality and the restoration of traffic lights at the Hendrik Potgieter and Alberts intersection in Roodepoort.

Community Outreach at Kagiso Sports Complex

At Kagiso Sports Complex, stakeholders from provincial departments, local and district municipalities, and law enforcement engaged with residents through exhibitions and service information stalls.

During the formal programme, Premier Lesufi, accompanied by Members of the Executive Council, addressed the Kagiso community:

“Criminals must know that we are ready for them. We are not going to surrender this province to anyone except peace-loving people,” he said.

The Premier concluded his address by unveiling the Revenue Collection Crafters initiative, further reinforcing the province’s commitment to sustainable, people-focused development.
