Department of Social Development 2019/09/04 - 22:00

It was a day of delight and celebration as the Soshanguve Secure Care Centre concludes the Women's Month activity, in Tshwane, last Friday.

The women from the institution were dressed in the 50's antique attire and enjoyed vintage music in a program themed, "Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change".

Head of Institution Patricia Ramere encouraged women to think beyond commemorating the Women's Day during this month, but to aspire to uplift each other through information and knowledge sharing so that the best can come out of such initiatives.

Nthabiseng Mokone from Avon encouraged women to live well and celebrate as individuals and as groups of women and take care of their health. She said these celebrations should be held occasionally to exercise self-love.

Financial Advisor Fezeka Feleza encouraged women to start businesses owing to their nature to make sound business decisions behind their partners or families.

She said usually women do not realise the amount of influence they possess as they rest in their comfort zone.

"People view owning a car or house which one pays for each month as an asset, but an asset is something that brings an income each time its services are required and paid for by a client".

Feleza further encouraged women to take stock of all opportunities offered by government as the government strives to empower women and youth.
