Gauteng residents have taken up the opportunity to get their COVID-19 vaccine at the new drive-through vaccination site at the Christian Family Church in Boksburg.

Residents who have followed the registration process and selected the International Christian Family Church as their vaccination site are being vaccinated in the comfort of their own vehicles without having to step out of their car to queue.

Tumi Mathope was delighted to have received her COVID-19 vaccine in the comfort of her vehicle.

"The wait was not bad as we were waiting in our cars unlike standing outside in the cold and for me, the radio and phone were my companions, just how l like it," said Tumi.

She went through the standard screening and verification process before receiving her COVID-19 vaccine.

After receiving her vaccine, she was told to park in the observation station for 15 minutes, while the nurses observed her for any adverse effects of the vaccine.

"I got my jab and I was told to park in the waiting bay for 15 minutes before leaving.

"I had a slight headache and my arm was aching up a storm, but I am fine now. I'm happy that I have taken a step towards self-protection," she said.
