Phelophepha Train in Gauteg to help provide healing

As part of efforts to ensure the delivery of healthcare in Gauteng Health facilities, the province continues to strengthens Public Private Partnerships to ensure that residents receive much needed medical attention.

Through this partnerships, yesterday, Health Deputy Minister, Dr Joe Phaahla together with Gauteng Acting MEC for Health, Jacob Mamabolo welcomed Transnet-Phelophepa Healthcare Train in Springs.

The health-train is intended to service communities who battle to access basic healthcare services in their areas. It offers eye and oral care, screening for HIV and AIDS, psychological services, screening and testing for covid-19 and medication for minor ailments amongst other services.

MEC Mamabolo said: "The deployment of the Phelophepa train in Gauteng is part of an agreement between Transnet and the Department to assist with the provision of Primary Health Care services, which became backlogged due to COVID-19,"

"We are truly grateful for this assistance and it will go a long way towards curbing the spread of the virus in the province as well as keeping the residents healthy."
