Gauteng, the vibrant heart of South Africa, is abuzz with business, tourism, trade, music festivals, and investment events, significantly boosting the province's economy.
As the country enters September, also known as Tourism Month, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has emphasized the pivotal role of hosting events across the province in fuelling economic growth.
During a legislative address, Premier Lesufi expressed his appreciation for Gauteng's recent role as the host province for the 15th BRICS Summit. He lauded the event's positive impact on the economy, citing its ability to create much-needed job opportunities and bolster regional tourism revenue.
"Businesses were overflowing with customers, hotels were fully booked, shops had new customers, and so many people were parading and participating in various economic opportunities in our province," said Premier Lesufi, enthused.
He thanked the President and the Department of International Relations for selecting Gauteng as the host city. He voiced a hopeful desire for the forthcoming G7 Summit to be hosted in the province.
Premier Lesufi took a moment to acknowledge the contributions of the MEC for Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation in attracting major sporting events to Gauteng. 
He highlighted the Rugby World Cup, hosted in two of Gauteng's cities, Johannesburg and Tshwane. He looked ahead to upcoming events, including the (Standard Bank) Joy of Jazz and the MTN 8 semi-final first-leg clash set to take place at FNB Stadium.
Lesufi also proudly announced that Gauteng had successfully secured the host city status for the Crown Gospel Music Awards, previously held in Kwazulu Natal since its inception.
Premier Lesufi excitedly mentioned the imminent DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival for those who relish the combination of delectable cuisine and captivating music. 
Renowned for its fusion of world-class cuisine and electrifying performances by local and international artists, this event promises an exhilarating experience for attendees.
Lesufi emphasized the multifaceted approach to stimulating Gauteng's economy. 
"This is how we pump an economy; we committed ourselves that the economy of Gauteng will be pumped from all sides… so that our people can benefit from these events," he affirmed.
