Phase 1 online applications for Grade 8 learners draws to a close- 01 September 2021

Gauteng parents and guardians who have children in Grade 7 at public schools in the province, going to Grade 8 in 2022 have until Friday, 3 September to apply for their admission. 

The Phase 1 application process began on 10 August 2021 and so far, close to 250,000 applications had been successfully logged on the system. 

Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi reminded parents and guardians to furnish the schools they applied for with the required documents.

"We have noted that some parents and guardians need to be reminded that the application stages also include the submission of the requested documents to the selected schools on time," said Lesufi 

Phase 2 applications will begin on 13 September 2021 and this will be for parents and guardians of children going to Grade 1 and Grade 8 in 2022 but are not in a public school in Gauteng. Phase 2 will subsequently end on 8 October 2021. 

Those who seek assistance regarding the 2022 online admissions may visit the District Offices/walk-in centres or continue to interact with the contact centre at 0800-000-789.

Parents and guardians who have already applied must also remember that they have to upload the required documents online or submit them at the school(s) they applied to.
