NPOs Express Delight After Signing SLA’s With The Department

Department of Social Development 2025/04/27 - 22:00

This week, the Gauteng Department of Social Development (DSD) continued with province-wide series of Service Level Agreement (SLA) signings with numerous Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) for the 2025/26 financial year. There was also a careful review process to ensure that selected NPOs are well resourced and positioned for effective service delivery.

The SLAs span a diverse range of programmes, including Residential Services, Sustainable Livelihoods, Children's Programmes and Homelessness, Victim Empowerment, Older Persons; Crime Prevention, Substance Abuse & HIV support, emphasizing the department's holistic approach to social development across all corridors.

Visiting the signing events in various GDSD corridors, the Department spoke to several NPO representatives who shared their optimism: Remoletile Johannes Seloma, of Botho Socio Psychology Empowerment (a Tshwane-based youth empowerment organisation), remarked, "We're thrilled with the process this year. We can't wait to start serving the youth of Soshanguve and surrounding areas."

Magriet Botha from SANCA Vaal Triangle, which provides community-based treatment, prevention, and aftercare for substance abuse, said "Securing SLAs for all three of our programmes gives us real peace of mind. We appreciate the Department's trust in us as we tackle the province's and the country's substance abuse challenges."

With funding agreements being put in place, the Gauteng GDSD and its NPO partners are ready to hit the ground running, delivering vital services and improving the lives of the province's most vulnerable communities.
