The Gauteng MEC for Health and Wellness, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, will on Friday, 09 May 2025, lead the Higher Education and Youth Sector launch of the national “Close the Gap” 1.1 million antiretroviral treatment (ART) campaign at the Vaal University of Technology (VUT) in Vanderbijlpark.

The MEC will deliver a keynote address at this youth-focused outreach campaign aimed at mobilising students to access HIV testing, treatment, and sexual and reproductive health services.

The event will feature interactive health services, student dialogues, and peer-led awareness activities to promote HIV prevention, condom use, Pre Exposure Prophylaxis, Post Exposure Prophylaxis, and mental wellness.
